~ WORKING TOGETHER FOR SAFER BOATING ~
Currently, our staff is in good health. We hope this message finds the same of you and yours.
COVID-19 is in its’ infancy in North America, and, as you are well aware, the situation is shifting quickly.
At Swiftsure Vessel Solutions Ltd, what has not shifted is our commitment to the physical safety and financial security of our marine industry partners and boating communities.
Across the globe, the most important goal now is to preserve and protect public health. Our management plan during these changing times is focused on minimizing any risk to the health of our staff and of valued clients and their staff alike, and to the families of all of us in these communities.
We also remain committed to serving your operational needs as efficiently and effectively as we can within the restrictions and recommend measures put in place by all levels of government.

Swiftsure Vessel Solutions Ltd. will not be travelling outside of Canada within the next 21 days. We will continue to monitor guidance and will respect the recommendations of the respected authorities in both regions, updating this plan as required.
We will be working to mitigate the risk while in transit and on location, locally.
In addition to physical distancing, we will be taking precautions to maintain high standards of sanitation.
Please note that your experience may vary depending on vessel location and how each community and the transport sector responds to COVID-19. We will endeavour to communicate with you regarding any changes to this plan in a timely matter.

For in-Canada inspection clients: |
For American boat-builder clients: |
The safety of our clients and staff is paramount. In light of the COVID-19 virus, all boats to be inspected must be vacated of all persons for a MINIMUM of 72 hours and as per the following conditions:
We also ask that you not be present for the inspection, which is a change from our normal policy of encouraging your involvement to get the most out of your survey. SVS will continue to work with you by email and phone, supplying necessary photos to and discussing any findings and recommendations with you. Our surveyors will use their own gear and wear gloves while onboard but we cannot sanitize every surface. Instead, we need to rely on time and the natural limitations of the virus. Upon completion of inspection, SVS will inform you via email and/or telephone call that the inspection has been completed. For your own protection, we recommend that you do not enter the vessel for at least 72 hours. |
To date, there are no restrictions on the flow of goods between our nations. US boatbuilders may still ship their products to Canadian dealerships without a valid Transport Canada Declaration of Conformity (TC DoC). It remains, however, that the final sale to the end-user (boat buyer) from the Canadian broker (dealership) is prohibited without a valid TC DoC.
In order to avoid disruption in the export and sales of US boats in Canada, Swiftsure will continue to conduct business to the extent possible; therefore, our immediate plan is to, with your coordination and authorization, organize inspections at your dealerships north of the border. As before, we can remotely (electronically) receive and review your technical files and submit your DoC’s to TC for final approval. In short, the only change to the process at this time is to inspect your vessels at the Canadian dealership(s) instead of at your production facilities. All other facets of the compliance and certification cycle remain unchanged. To coordinate inspections within Canada, please contact us at 613.921.8331 or office@swiftsure.ca. Once conditions normalize and international travel restrictions are no longer in place, you will have the option of having Swiftsure back at your plant for on-site inspections. We look forward to working together to keep your business moving forward during this uncertain time. |
If you have questions on the nature of our prevention policy, we would be happy to discuss it further by phone or by email.
We appreciate your patience in this matter and encourage everyone to stay safe.
